Merlyne Desire (she/her)

Merlyne Desire is a dynamic leader and creative force within the BWINH Collective. Merlyne combines her passion for community advocacy with her artistic talents to foster connection and inclusivity. She brings a deeply intersectional approach to her work, ensuring that every voice is seen, heard, and valued. Through her innovative leadership and commitment to uplifting marginalized voices, Merlyne has made a lasting impact on both our organization and the wider community.

Dena Romney (she/her)

Dena is a proud resident of Manchester, New Hampshire, with roots in the idyllic Saint Maarten. Dena, driven by a deep sense of community, sought to join the collective. She brings extensive knowledge, aiming to enhance organizational efficiency and ensure the club's long-term continuity. Dena is dedicated to fostering a strong sense of belonging within the community and contributing to its sustained success

Jessica Sol (she/her)

Jessica is a resident of Lowell, MA, hailing from Lawrence, MA. Married for 12 years with a vibrant 6-year-old son, Jessica joined the collective to be part of a lasting community venture. Her dream of contributing to a community space has come true, and in her role, she aims to forge lasting friendships and revive a sense of community akin to a village. Jessica is on a mission to turn her dream into a tangible and thriving reality.

Jacquai Heyward (she/her)

Jacquai resides in Merrimack, NH and has roots in both Fitchburg, MA, and Hudson, NH, where she spent her formative years. Passionate about community engagement, Jacquai joined the board driven by a desire to contribute to her community. In her role, Jacquai aims to foster unity and solidarity among black womxn. Her commitment to community service and building bridges aligns seamlessly with her goal of bringing together Black womxn.

Vanessa Weathers (she/her)

Vanessa Weathers is the founder of the Black Womxn in NH Social Club and the BWINH Inc. nonprofit collective. As a disabled, neurodivergent single mother, Vanessa’s work is deeply influenced by her lived experiences and commitment to creating inclusive, accessible spaces for Black individuals, particularly those who are marginalized. Through her leadership, BWINH Inc. has become a hub for community care, cultural reconnection, and solidarity. She founded programs such as Black Womxn Lead to foster leadership development and cultivate spaces where Black people can learn, grow, and support one another. Vanessa’s dedication to decolonized leadership practices, as well as her focus on sustainability and collective empowerment, drives the work she does to uplift the Black community in New England.
