Seeds of Solidarity
A Black-led education cooperative rooted in culture, community, and collective care.
Seeds of Solidarity is a community-rooted learning initiative created by and for Black families—though open to all who align with our values.
This education cooperative is our response to the growing efforts to silence Black history, erase Black cultures, and disconnect our children from their roots. We’re reclaiming our right to teach and learn on our own terms, grounded in joy, creativity, and community.
We believe education should reflect the brilliance and diversity of our people, and that our children deserve spaces where they are seen, valued, and free to grow.
🌿 What We’re Building
-
A Black-led education cooperative that centers cultural learning and community care
-
A curriculum shaped by storytelling, movement, gardening, music, art, and ancestral wisdom
-
A cooperative model where families, educators, and culture bearers share power and vision
-
A space for connection, celebration, and transformative learning
We are currently in the planning phase, preparing for a 2026 pilot program. Throughout 2025, we’re hosting visioning sessions, family conversations, and learning events to build this together—brick by brick, seed by seed.
🧠 Why It Matters
Education is not neutral. For generations, schools have been used to suppress the truth about Black history and disconnect us from our culture.
Seeds of Solidarity is about taking education back into our own hands—and growing something rooted in who we are.
We’re building for our children. For our elders. For our future.
